Who is Hort Properties

Hort Properties proudly provides quality, affordable apartments in Mattoon and Charleston, Illinois. As a locally owned company, we’re committed to offering clean, comfortable homes backed by responsive, hometown service.  Founded in 2017, Hort Properties now offers over 550 units; a mix of apartments, duplexes, and single-family homes.

Our apartments and houses are conveniently located throughout Coles County.  In Charleston, you can find 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments less than a block from Old Main at Eastern Illinois University.  Have friends or roommates?  Find 3, 4 or even 5 bedroom houses surrounding EIU's campus.  Our locations near the square in downtown Charleston include 2 and 3 bedroom apartments.   We have pet friendly option.  Your dog friendly or cat friendly home awaits.  In Mattoon you will find many top shopping and dining options throughout the growing community, including the new Emerald Acres shopping destination — making it easy to live, work, and relax close to everything you need.
